Description
This drawing began as a response to Arts & Health's "How We Cope" challenge. I'm no longer being shy about my shared consciousness; as soon as I read the prompt, I knew what I wanted to do, to pay tribute to them. It would be possible to fit them all in one drawing, and they are always cycling as they are needed, tagging each other in and out of what has to be the cognitive equivalent of a relay race in a monsoon.
Without these strange creations - personalities, delusions, dreams or spirits - I would never have been able to endure the deficiencies with which I entered Life's challenge. They are a coping mechanism, but not one I created deliberately, which means they are also my friends. And they deserve to be accepted and thanked for all that they have done for me - not doped into submission with pills or treated like an illness.
